Cold Lake Palliative Care Society
Who we are
The Cold Lake Palliative Care Society is a non-profit organization that aims to ensure the provision of palliative care services in Cold Lake and surrounding area.
Our philosophy is that we believe individuals have the right to die with dignity in a care environment of their choice. We also believe that clients and their families need support, that our community has the responsibility to ensure that Palliative Care services are available.
“To ensure the provision of Palliative care services in our community.”
We want people to be aware of what Palliative care consists of and how it can improve a person’s life who is suffering a life threatening illness. Through our provided resources, events and fundraisers, we believe that we can spread awareness of palliative care and its benefits.
Directors & Staff
The board is made up of volunteer health care professionals working in the healthcare centre and home care environment. This includes crisis workers, spiritual leaders, and community members who are passionate about caring for their friends and neighbours during an often difficult part of life.
Cyndy has lived and worked in the community for almost 3 decades. After being able to be with her mom and her sister through their last weeks of life, she hopes to bring joy and peace to the end of life for others. Cyndy brings first hand caregiver experience and is eager to share her care, love and support with the community.
Megan and her husband have lived in the lakeland area since 2001. She is passionate about helping people and has been an active volunteer and parent board member. Megan has seen the difference that good palliative care can make during a difficult time. She is looking forward to working with the CLPCS to ensure people have access to quality palliative care.
